PRODUCED AND DISTRIBUTED BY AMC STUDIOS, THE SERIES WILL BE CO-CREATED AND PRODUCED BY SCOTT M. GIMPLE AND MATT NEGRETE

AMC Networks International - Latin America announced today that it has acquired the third series in the expanding universe of “The Walking Dead” to premiere on AMC exclusively in 2020. Produced and distributed by AMC Studios, the 10-episode series is currently in production in Virginia, USA.

“The rich mythology of ‘The Walking Dead’ universe has one of the most passionate fanbases, and this highly anticipated drama will introduce viewers to all-new characters and explore thrilling new stories,” said Pablo Corona, Vice President of Programming, AMC Networks International - Latin America. “This is a particularly exciting acquisition for AMC Latin America which will complement the outstanding series from AMC Studios which have already proved to be hits with our viewers, including ‘Fear the Walking Dead’, ‘NOS4A2’ and ‘The Terror: Infamy’, among others.”

The drama will feature two young female protagonists and focus on the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it. Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad. The new series’ cast includes Aliyah Royale (“The Red Line”) as Iris, Alexa Mansour (“How To Get Away With Murder”) as Hope, Annet Mahendru (“The Americans”) as Huck, Nicolas Cantu (“The Amazing World of Gumball”) as Elton, Hal Cumpston (Bilched) as Silas and Nico Tortorella (“Younger”) as Felix.

The series was co-created by chief content officer for “The Walking Dead” universe, Scott M. Gimple and Matt Negrete, who has been a writer and producer on “The Walking Dead” for the past five seasons and is showrunner of the new drama. The series is executive produced by Gimple, Negrete, Robert Kirkman and David Alpert.
